Genoa beats Emerald Rapids

Post by Werewolf »

For those who dream big, here's the latest on the newly launched Emerald Rapids Xeon vs the current champ, EPYC Genoa.

If you can't be bothered to read the article, AMD has more cores (96 per CPU) but Intel has made strides forward in AI.

However, for chess (esp SF) there's no contest: AMD is streets ahead.

I didn't notice before, that AMD has 128 cores Bergamo! Maybe good update from Intel i5?

I didn’t bother to include that because it’s not aimed at workstations.
The nps may be similar, but if it’s achieving that with more cores, the overall search speed will be lower.
