I wonder if LC0 will slowly overtake Stockfish in the TCEC matches. Any opinions?

The just finished beat down of lc0 by torch at ccc (+89 over 500 games) makes me pessimistic at its chances. SF has some more concrete improvements coming.
Fat Titz by Stockfish, the engine with the bodaciously big net. Remember: size matters. If you want to learn more about this engine just google for "Fat Titz".

I’d like to see BT4 at LTC before deciding

TCEC FRD final is currently draw. Surprising, when SF won all white league games vs Leela. But FRD is not chess :) .

In normal chess Lc0 is quite useless and loses to 2 core Stockfish. From Ipman page.

Code: Select all

  1 Stockfish 20230923 avx2 : 3613 11 11 1050 66.1 % 3497 67.5 %
  2 Stockfish 16 bmi2 : 3608 11 11 1050 65.5 % 3497 68.6 %
  3 Lc0 0.31.0-dev.BT3-2860000 : 3590 11 10 1050 63.0 % 3497 72.2 %
  4 Lc0 0.31.0-dev.BT3-2790000 : 3588 10 10 1050 62.8 % 3497 74.1 %
  5 Lc0 0.31.0-dev.T1-3395000 : 3586 10 10 1050 62.5 % 3497 74.0 %
  6 Dragon 3.3 avx2 : 3581 10 10 1050 61.8 % 3498 74.2 %
I have not updated net after May  . Needs 2000$ card to run.

So total FRD score including Final League was +5 for SF!
