I overclocked my Ryzen 9 5900X following this instruction page.
It went as predicted, 3.7Ghz to 4.6Ghz and no problems but in the end it was slower.
Reason, with the change you also disable the inbuilt turbo function.
Any takers?

The normal boost is 4.8GHz, and what they did was OC to 4.6GHz all-core. You won't have 4.8GHz all-core without OC, that's why they did that in the first place. So where you actually lose performance is the 4.8GHz boost for loads that run only one or two threads.

Hi there,
yes, maximum I can give is 4.8 for all cores with a good water cooling system I have inside. Runs without any problems but with high cost for energy and the temperature is high! In my opinion the optimal combination between power cost and normal temperature for the 5950x system I use is 4.2Ghz. For my still running tournaments with longer time controls I use 4.0Ghz ... fast enough and about the same power as my Intel 10900k with 10 cores produced with 4.9Ghz (four years old now) and water cooling system.
