Re: New GUI releases / updates and tools 2024
Reporting here since I don't know where else to report.
en-croissant 0.9.0 does not work for me on linux (same with version 0.8.0, 0.9.1, but some other earlier version had worked). After installing the deb, upon starting from the games menu, nothing happens. Is it supposed to work only on AMD processors?
Nibbler: It has no uninstall or upgrade instructions. When I tried to install it, it said it is already installed. So I manually removed the directory /opt/nibbler, and installed the latest version. But it would be nice to have a proper clean uninstall that also removes any other files that it installs (menu entry, symlinks, etc.)? Also, how do you know what is the installed version. I tried 'nibbler --version' but it didn't work (and it started nibbler), and in the GUI menu I didn't find 'About' or a similar entry.
My general complaint about many programs is that there are often no uninstall or upgrade instructions, especially when the installation script is not just copying one executable to /usr/local/bin or /opt. Nibbler at least shows at the time of installing what all things it is doing, and I had noted them before, so it was not a big issue.

This nice GUI is both WB & UCI compatible (like Arena).
