But sharing ideas is an even greater virtue. We have another word for this. It is called teaching.

Most unlike a computer game!

What was the time control?

5 minutes analysis: 26. hxg3? but 26.fxg3! draw. Very difficult to the most engines.

There were more than 2,000 TB hits to the full set of 3, 4 and 5-man Syzygy EGTB.

SF thought that 26.- hxg3 was the only move with plus eval up to depth 24. This move was first considered bad at depth 27.

Pgn says Time Control: 1800+3

Useful to know about the C8 PGN info option - thanks! 8-)

I interpret this as half an hour (= 1800 seconds) plus 3 seconds for each move. Please correct me if I am wrong.

I don't know where to find the information, but the strange evaluations by the Lc0 opponents are a giant contempt, I think.
I am guessing by the title of this special match: "S26 - Contemptla Gauntlet Kibitzer Bonus"
I am looking at another game right now, and the opponent engine is also 200 centipawns high, in my opinion, so I guess they are forcing the opponent to try to win rather than draw.
Lc0, on the other hand, seems to have sensible evaluations at all times.

So contempt (or perhaps "utter disdain" in this case) does not seem to lead to great play by the contemptuous engine, if my guess is right.

Put another way, contempt only has value if the contemptuous engine is actually better. Quite frankly, against Lc0, these engines should use negative contempt.

I think you are completely wrong. Only Leela uses contempt in this event (besides maybe some default contempt of the opponents like Minic's contempt 12). "Contempla" is Contempt in Leela.
Just hover above the engine in TCEC GUI to see the engine's settings.
Maybe they use openings that are known for being misevaluated by 2nd-tier engines.

You are probably right. It surprises me that really excellent engines misevaluate so badly.

It is this TC, indeed.

Just to complete the help of pgn4web, just do a mouseover over each square. You will get a list of shortcut squares if you click on g8 square.
