On-line engine blitz tourney April

The monthly online engine blitz tournament for April will take place on:

Saturday, April 12, 2:00 PM EST (Boston time) 20:00 CET (Amsterdam time)

To connect, use the following command:

winboard -zp -ics -icshost nightmare-chess.nl -icshelper timeseal -fcp ENGINE.exe -fd ENGINEFOLDER -autoKibitz -keepAlive 30
(For UCI engines, add -fUCI)

If you don’t have an account, please submit a request to admin@nightmare-chess.nl.

Our tournament manager will be Eendje (Lisebeth @ ICC).

The format will be 9 rounds, Swiss system, 5/1 time control.

Lisebeth prefers to start the tournament on the hour, so please log in 15 minutes early. Late entries are not supported.

This is the correct forum. Here is why: the tournament advertised is not a do it yourself tournament. This notice is an invitation to all the developers/researchers out there to get online and enter the tournament with their own hardware, preferred parameter tunings, opening books ...

So, not uniform anything.

The last time this discussion came up was about 15 years ago and it was decided that this is the correct forum to advertise such events.

Arasan on 48 cores won the tournament with 8 points out of 9, a pretty strong performance.
Marvin with 6.5 points did pretty good too, Goldbar and LeelaRB share the third place with 6 points.
Nightmare had some problems, a small untested change didn't work out like it should.
I don't know what happened with DogPC, he lost connection and didn't come back.

LeelaRB was Lc0 0.31.2 ONNX-DML on an Intel 13th Gen i5-1340P laptop using the integrated Intel Iris Xe Graphics.

LeelaRB was Lc0 0.31.2 ONNX-DML on an Intel 13th Gen i5-1340P laptop using the integrated Intel Iris Xe Graphics.

It's amazing that Leela plays at this level using Iris XE graphics.

I don't know anything about Leela, I always thought that it needs NVidia/CUDA to operate, so there are versions for Intel GPU as well. The last 5 years i've been doing a lot with neural-nets, but exactly zero with computer-chess, so my knowledge about it is a bit rusty.

Ah, I didn't know this. I was the one who told Lisebeth to add dogPC, sorry.
