Hi there,
thats interesting.
Lambergar seems to play with white pieces more aggressive.
Not to 100% sure but very sure after the first 600 games I saw.
We know that from Xiphos.
That, too, is only human!
I like that ...
The test-run is at the moment still running.
Another engine (new for me) I like a lot.
Have fun here in watching the games!
Best

Re: Lambergar and Xiphos!
Hi there,
yes, Lambergar 1.5 is great!
It has everything I could want.
Very strong average move count (only 76 moves); for a Captain, many games were won by checkmate in fewer than 45 moves.
A very active chess style in the early and late middlegame. In the endgame, other programs (with roughly the same Elo) are slightly stronger here. No technical issues and interesting chess. I often thought to myself… now would be the time for a speculative move in an open position, and yes, Lambergar does exactly that. Some beautiful combinations would never have occurred to me while watching so many games. It’s clear that the engine plays at around 3325 Elo, given that Shredder 12 = 2800 Elo, or Stockfish 18 = 3565 Elo. And I today with max. 2000 Elo (in good days) ... but again, fun during watching the games is very important.
Perhaps in certain cases (with a full board), the engine declares the game a draw a little earlier than it should.
King safty is also perfect, no game lost under 45 moves ... in the group of 26 standard engines I am using for a test are a lot of attackers.
Testing this program was a real highlight for me.
Wonderful … and thanks to the programmer for this great engine with a great future I think.
With a stronger endgame 100 Elo or more are possible.
This program will go his way and the way will be interesting to follow.
Best regards
Frank
