Possible solutino to Windows 11 flagging programs as bad

Smart App Control, set to off.
It had no problem with Arena, but it kept flagging engines as possibly hostile (including every stockfish variant).
Of course, there is some danger than a bad program could get spawned.
But I need to be able to run chess programs on this machine.
I did not spend thousands of dollars so it could function as a word processor.

Ironically, the engines it did not like, I built myself from source.

Which makes sense, because what you build yourself won't be on Microsoft's whitelist of programs that it considers "safe" to be run by you.

Of course you should disable the feature unless you think it is a good idea for Microsoft to be informed of every executable you run (it seems smart app control uses "cloud-based AI" to determine if it is OK to run the executable).

On both my machines it is disabled by default anyway - at least I don't recall ever disabling it myself.

My old threadripper died, so I got a used Lenovo P620 3995wx threadripper workstation with 256GB RAM. It has been factory reset, but it seems that one or more odd settings were left in the bios perhaps. Wonderful machine that only cost me $5300 on eBay.
