The links from Damir are not working anymore but I am sure Damir will be willing to give executables to anyone who asks and maybe I will make some Dropbox link, but maybe Ed will reconsider his position, the engines should really be on his pages. If he does.

I only just discovered, "Frank Brenner" did actually post about the Mephisto III here in that long thread so at least Thorsten will have had a clue about who it is I can't keep up with all these persons and programmers here, who keeps count?


Nice searchresult here in this endgame!

Mephisto III (I have the program from Ed but too but this one is enough for now) one of the few programs I think I would like to have on an uninhabited island, with the four (!, not three) endgame books from Chéron to study. I like the hardcovers. It would be enough to keep me busy for a few years if I had found a way to catch fish. Okay, Shredder and a computer are necessary too for a GUI, Stockfish 11. That is enough. But I would not be very good at building a raft or keeping time with analemma's and sundials like Tom Hanks in Cast Away I'm afraid. I would like a computer with sattelite dish but hate to depend on Musk.
