Re: What's Changed? (Komodo)
Ted, maybe now you will understand that the ELO racing goes to nothing.
The liked by you strongest engines (3) will be the stupidest ones too.
The abilities in tactical, zugzwang or other tough but rare posisions can only stop the ELO gain (e.g. Houdini).
I hope it is a good experience for you (and other) and it will help you to change your bad decisions.
Thanks for a normal diagram!

Maybe, I can't be friendly, but let me be useful.

There was no question in your initial post. What is your question ?AdminX wrote:Thank you for not answering the question, just trolling I see!lech wrote:Ted, maybe now you will understand that the ELO racing goes to nothing.

Theory and practice sometimes clash. And when that happens, theory loses. Every single time.

The question is right there in the title, What's Changed? To be more precise What's changed that it takes now twenty minutes longer to see Ng5 +- ?lucasart wrote:There was no question in your initial post. Perhaps they give lower ranks to bad captures. Also in Skipper if I use LMR I search deeper but find less Mates.AdminX wrote:The question is right there in the title, What's Changed? The single (academic) response is:
-it is the same position;
-the times were changed !

The 1-st of May regards,

Re: What's Changed? (Komodo)
Then it's not a very pertinent question. You can't conclude anything from a single position. Perhaps it takes longer for this one, but solves another one faster. You'd need to do some testing on thousands of positions to arrive at some kind of conclusion.AdminX wrote:The question is right there in the title, What's Changed? But, yes, maybe Komodo's search has become more selective, and misses some tactical shots along the way for the sake of gaining elo. You can't optimize both for elo and for solving tactical test suites, you have to choose.

So you are saying perhaps there are changes in LMR, if I understand you correctly.Henk wrote:Perhaps they give lower ranks to bad captures. Yes or move ordering. Searches use heuristic rules so there is always a chance that it oversees good moves. Or they find them too late.AdminX wrote:So you are saying perhaps there are changes in LMR, if I understand you correctly.Henk wrote:Perhaps they give lower ranks to bad captures.
