one exciting thing about the D+
here the link with the D+ and D++ article
http://www.thorstenczub.de/dplus.html
was e.g. that kaplan implemented kind of
hash for the 8bit machines. it seems he saved important information from the searches before. that is IMO for an 8bit computer very astonishing.
thanks!
i should PAY you to write an English version of this work and put it in your web site and make it as a printable download
i cant read alot of it
would you re-write it for a Sub to Selective Search??
Bribing Regards

These guys can have all kind of defects, but they are not stupid. One thing is that some computers sells well in eBay for some collectors, other is to produce hundreds -at the very least- and get a market for them.
Those computers in eBay are expensive BECAUSE they are scarce. Once abundant, they would go down and probably even collectors would lose interest.
Simple marketing acumen regards
Fernando

Being plastic doesn't make the computer cheap, cheaper as a rule but a rare plastic Mach IV is expensive.mclane wrote:i don't think you are right fernando.

Why do you say it isn't strong? For a computer 20 years ago, it was very strong.

I agree, Thorsten. My old Excellence may not be a very strong opponent, but it does play interesting chess, in my opinion. (I like the Spracklen programs!) I wish I could buy a dedicated computer that plays interesting chess for $50. There could and there should be one!

p.s. My wife got me Excalibur's "King Arthur" machine for Christmas. It was sweet of her, but it's not only easy to beat, it plays BORING chess.
