I think it was confirmed that Father uses some sort of "lag+timeseal+premove" "cheating", that means, that he's playing actually much slower than the game shows, but the enemy receives the move after a lag, so with a lag of two seconds, you can make your moves in two seconds and it will seem as if you moved instantly.
I am interested in this. Quite a few times in playchess I can have 30 seconds against someone who has only 3 secs and I will still lose on time even if I play with pre move and play instantly. How can they do that?
I agree with you on the time. Something funny is going on.
How do they pull that off.

All of a sudden people like to communicate in HIS language with other people that speak HIS language. Pity that you folk, in US and other sides, seems to believe everybody MUST always talks just in English. There are other ways, also, pal.

I think you do a good job at showing the weaknesses of some computer chess programs.
In principle agreed. But on the other hand: is it of any practical relevance
- except for the bullet game players - that a chess program is losing on time
at level 3m+0s ??

He's done it at some longer time controls, but to my knowledge, nothing approaching tournament time control.

Still, it would be nice if more engines could see through his stonewalling tactics and be able to make a sacrifice in order to bust through and tear him up.

I think Bob told him Crafty could break through stonewll and beat
him. I don't know if this match was played. Be interesting to see.
untill engines can beat the stonewall at any speed Father is
winner. :) :)

They lose communication with the server, so when the move is sent, the server thinks that the move was made when the communication was lost, even if the human has just moved (Or, this is my understanding of it.)

It's actually quite simple, they use most of their internet connection on something else (Like downloading a huge movie while they're playing a game), this will cause artificial lag, so the server loses contact with them, it may be tricked into thinking that they have moved instantly, and timeseal will replenish the supposed lost time.

Of course, this may happen accidentally against persons with a slow connection, but when it's done on purpose it should be considered cheating as the net result is that the person with the fastest connection and no lag gets time handicapped.
Your beliefs create your reality, so be careful what you wish for.

A year back or so others and I tested(openly, with mutual consent) this on the playchess server in the engine room.we downloaded big files as fast as possible, but got no lag whatsoever. If you want lag get a bad isp.
Note that the people with a bad connection and big lag also have low ratings too.
