Hiarcs will never win against Naum. Naum is to strong for Hiarcs.

I'm glad you are a HIARCS fan, Thomas. You speak of some serious "absolutes" from a single game.

Congratulations, however, to Alex on his fine work with Naum as well as to Rybka -- Co-Winners of the event.

Naum is a very strong engine, maybe the best engine with big hardware, but hiarcs is also very good. What happened to the luck factor you talked about the other day? I can not think of a stronger 32bit engine than Hiarcs, it seems like a better idea to be a fan of such a great engine than be bitter and/or jealous of it.

I suspect that Thomas might have been talking about the game in question, which was indeed won eventually by Naum.
This seems to be confirmed by the timing of his post and then Daniel's post three minutes later.
I doubt that his comment was malicious in that context.

When you see CCRL 40/40 list you can see that for example:
Rybka 2.1 32bit 4CPU seems to be stronger than any version of latest Hiarcs on 4 CPU's.
Also you can see that Toga II 1.3.1 seems a bit stronger than the single CPU version of Hiarcs 11.1.

Looking at CEGT you can also find many examples of 32-bit engines stronger than Hiarcs.
After his son's birth they've asked him:
"Is it a boy or girl?"
YES! He replied.....

Is English Thomas's first language?
I took it it to mean that Hiarcs would never win that game. This seems to be confirmed by the timing of his post, which was when Hiarcs was struggling.
I guess only Thomas can confirm one way or the other for sure.
In the meantime, surely it's sensible to give him the benefit of the doubt.

Regards, Graham.

I highly doubt Toga can beat Hiarcs on 8x hardware.
