Re: Rybka 2.3.2a v Naum 3- At The Halfway Mark!
Anyone care to venture if Naum can right the ship and turn this thing around in the second half!?? There have to be a few interesting theories and/or predictions lurking around out there.
Re: Rybka 2.3.2a v Naum 3- At The Halfway Mark!
I doubt it George. Naum seems to be a lot better under my conditions though.

THANKS GEORGE DUE TO YOUR POSTING I AM NOT GOING TO BUY NAUM , ALMOST LOST 60 BUCKS!

George, I think you might want to turn off your spontaneous character switch, if there is one. People reading your post might think that you are telling them to note buy Naum if they havent read any of your previous posts.bigo wrote:THANKS GEORGE DUE TO YOUR POSTING I AM NOT GOING TO BUY NAUM , ALMOST LOST 60 BUCKS!

So the only reason you have in buying Naum or maybe any other Chess engine, is to be able to have a score of more than 11-4 in the first 15 games against Rybka 2.3.2a, on the hardware and time controls George uses?bigo wrote:THANKS GEORGE DUE TO YOUR POSTING I AM NOT GOING TO BUY NAUM , ALMOST LOST 60 BUCKS!
How do you know Naum is not better with some other hardware or with some other time control?
After his son's birth they've asked him:
"Is it a boy or girl?"
YES! He replied.....

Naum is better than the free Rybka under my conditions by about 110 points.George Tsavdaris wrote:So the only reason you have in buying Naum or maybe any other Chess engine, is to be able to have a score of more than 11-4 in the first 15 games against Rybka 2.3.2a, on the hardware and time controls George uses?bigo wrote:THANKS GEORGE DUE TO YOUR POSTING I AM NOT GOING TO BUY NAUM , ALMOST LOST 60 BUCKS!

I am a bit over 99% sure that you are just taking some kind of shot here at me for God only knows why. But just on the ever, ever, ever so slight off chance that you are not- i will repeat this once again- slowly for you.
Naum 3.0_is_IMO_a_great_buy. Can it beat Rybka on most probably any hardware- very doubful. Would i buy it knowing what i know now? MOST DEFINITELY I WOULD. Limit your purchases to the programs that can give Rybka a run for her money- your_shelf_will_be_empty. (Im getting too old for this shit.)
PS: Buy it- don't buy it. I have bigger fish to fry.

Does 'Preserve Hash' mean that Naum keeps the hash from all its games? If so, I predict that after enough games, Naum can learn to beat RybkaGeorge Tsavdaris wrote: How do you know Naum is not better with some other hardware or with some other time control?
