Congratulations on your chess engine/Aquarium windfall.
A later check of two major currencies showed that the downloads in euros was about equal in price between the two websites, and in pounds sterling (uk) the Rybka website was more expensive to purchase from.
Someone on the Rybka website tried to explain away the dollar difference in price as being because the dollar is weak in the world markets. That does not explain the prices on the sites being different.
No biggie though. Just when I checked the dollar amounts yesterday when the release was announced, I thought the difference in price odd.

How did you manage to win a free copy? What do I have to do to get one as well?
I was just plain "LUCKY". I was 1 of 13 Beta Testers for Aquarium that was selected for a free copy of Deep Rybka III plus Aquarium. Good thing too, because I was just about to press the pay button on the Monday when I recieved the news.
Hmm, I would have thought all beta testers deserved a free copy...
All these were beta testers for Aquarium GUI and not for Rybka 3.
Obviously they all got Aquarium since they were beta testing it.
I see no reason why they should get Rybka 3 also.
After his son's birth they've asked him:
"Is it a boy or girl?"
YES! He replied.....

You are right, I missed that. So 12 of them got free Aquarium, one lucky man got Rybka as well.
Wrong, 13 Lucky men got Deep Rybka III with Aquarium! There were more than 13 beta testers of Aquarium.

Some Beta testers left town immediately or were really busy as to not be able to test much, these beta testers only got Aquarium for free, but not the engine.
I noticed the price difference too. I tried to order it from Convekta but their website has serious problems. After "registering" on their site I'm directed to a page in Russian, which, unfortunately, I don't read.

chessok.com actually goes to Convketa's servers to process orders.
Using Netscape 3.0 it was flaky - 2nd time I tried to register, I didn't get Russian, but Spanish! (even though I had United States selected as the location). Maybe they figured it was the other San Jose, the one in Costa Rica?
I got through the order process ok using IE 7. But I haven't received any download link so far.
