Intel® Core™ i7 Processor

It has been released almost a month ago, where is the news?
Read the site and see what's just on the horizon.
In short, Is it as good (or more? or less?) than a doubling speed of a Quad core?
You are talking about the octi-core technology, you'll have to wait a bit for it's release.

How much slower will core i7 be?

I don't know. It's the best Intel offers right now with the only faster chip being the Core i7 Extreme. They're pretty damn fast.

What I am interested is a dual socket 2 x 8 core overclockable setup. Imagine 16 Nehalem Cores @ 5Ghz !!!

Thanks for the info.

Hi Kaj,

I just did a quick search about "mobile nehalem" and found this: http://www.pcworld.com/article/152473/i ... k=rss_news

What I referred to in my post, was info I read last summer but I suppose it is already out of date... :?

They now say starting production 2009 Q2, the commercial release date still being unknown yet.

And when we are there, you'll post again to check what is just on the horizon.

Thanks for that info, Marc.

I will be following this development with interest, and prolonging the life of my current notebook until i know what the final planning will be, and then make a decision.

Cheers,

Kaj
