Funny. I take it you want to lose......
No - I'd even be disappointed with a draw.![]()
Please explain how swapping pieces wins when we have less material than our opponent?
Why do we need to swap off a piece that our opponent has that is doing nothing?
How does that do "something"?
I prefer to neutralise the threats on the kingside and stay in the game that way.
The bishop on h6 causes Bxg6 to be a continuing possibility at an opportune moment for White. As I stated, I don't like the line 29.....Rf6; 30.h4, Ra5; 31.Bg5.
Just my opinion, but it counts just like every other voter's does.
We get to a position where it is rambling aimlessly and you give it an advantage again. Smart......

I'll say it again........
Why do we need to swap off a piece that our opponent has that is doing nothing for one of ours that is doing something and that we need?
Well I don't like Marmite but that's not a reason......The bishop on h6 causes Bxg6 to be a continuing possibility at an opportune moment for White. As I stated, I don't like the line 29.....Rf6; 30.h4, Ra5; 31.Bg5.

Graham after Rf6 h4 Ra5 you are missing the threat c5 Bxc5 b4Graham Banks wrote:Christopher Conkie wrote: Another crazy horse?

h4 can probably only be answered by Qa5 as the queen also defends the b4 square.
Anyway I just checked a couple of engines and generally they prefer retreating the bishop leading to more favorable positions for black after Rf6. So that I would now after some thought rather prefer keeping our dark colored bishop on the board and hope that white actually plays a typical computer move and doesn't follow some plan like h4.
So I want to change my vote to Rf6
I hope that doesn't make the vote even more complex now.

One obviously wouldn't reply to c5 with Bxc5. I was only responding to whoever suggested Ra5 as the response.Edmund wrote: Graham after Rf6 h4 Ra5 you are missing the threat c5 Bxc5 b4

I'll stick with 29......Bf8 because I'm still not comfortable with the 29......Rf6; 30.h4 line.

Bb5 Re5.
Qb7 f3.
Rb8 h4 maybe
Qd5 Rf7
c5 Qa5 and the pawn in c5 is in trouble.
