I have downloaded Strelka 3 but it is only SP engine. Will do some testing to see it's strength compared to some MP engines.
I have downloaded a Strelka 3 also. I don't know if it's the same with yours.
But i run a 16 games match and Rybka 3 won 12-4 (+9 =6 -1 , 75%) so i suspect that the comment of Sergei Markoff that Strelka 3 is stronger than Rybka 3 is wrong or the thing i downloaded is not really Strelka 3.
I think that SmarThink would be even stronger if able to use MP capabilities.
I mean, you have seen the comments about Ktulu 9..Why even make engines that can not be used on MP computers.
Some people do not have yet more than one CPU(core) computers. So the SP engines are just fine for them.
Also with SP engines you can do almost all things you will do with MP engines, by just running them more time.

YES! He replied.....
I don't think Shredder 12 is in overall stronger than Rybka 3. Rybka is clearly better than Shredder in the middlegame and maybe even in the opening. However Shredder and Toga are clearly better than Rybka 3 in the endgame. Many times Rybka 3 doesn't understand the endgame while Shredder 12 has a quite good amount of endgame knowledge. All the programs are about as equally weak in the opening when they're not using opening books.
All the current programs have their weaknesses and imperfections. But overall I think Rybka 3 is stronger than Shredder 12

I don't know really because I never worked with rebel 3. All I know is that after analyzing a lot of positions with Rybka 3 in order to improve my game, I discovered serious flaws in Rybka evaluation of endgame. Many times it takes Rybka too much time to find a good move in the endgame. Toga CIREBONB and Shredder 10 did better than Rybka in the endgames I analyzed.
I doubt whether these serious weaknesses in Rybka's evaluation of the endgame will be much improved upon in Rybka 4. The difference between Rybka 3 and Rybka 4 is probably gonna be too small for it to take much effect in the endgame.
After working with Rybka alot, I have to say that Rybka 3 even on a Quad is very strong. I think it takes a very strong GM like Nakamura or Dmitry Andreikin to outplay Rybka in a 1 minute game.
Hikaru Nakamura (also known as Star Wars on Playchess) is probably among the only ones who stand a chance against Rybka. Dima Andreikin is about on Nakamura's level. They are both very good players. Boris Grachev, also known as Guenplen on Playchess is another very strong player, could also probably beat Rybka on a Quad in a 1 minute game. Today he beat Zhigalko Sergei 7-4 (or maybe it was 8-3 I don't quite remember) in 11 1-minute games.
Overall Playchess has some very strong players, a few of them may be on Rybka's level.
Just saw the recently completed World Blitz Champs, amazing that Nakamura was not invited.Any way the number of blunders was quite alarming, Anand, Kramnik, Carlsen all made horrible boo boo's.Somthing that is understandable for the quick 3m +2sec games. Why don't some of those ICC/Playchess players with astronomical ratings show up in real life OTB competitions?
