17th Amateur Series Division 3

17TH AMATEUR SERIES (Division 3)

Intel Q6600 Quad Core
ChessGUI
128mb hash each
3-4-5 piece tablebases
Ponder off
HS-Large Remis book (limited to 12 moves)
40 moves in 32 minutes repeating (adapted for the CCRL)
4 cycles 44 rounds
The top engine will gain automatic promotion and the bottom engine will face automatic relegation. The fate of the second top and second to bottom engines and perhaps others will be determined by grading matches before the next series.

Traditionally, Division 3 is also a very closely fought division. Here are my thoughts on how things might go:

I think that Sloppy, Amyan and AnMon will be the ones most likely to be vying for promotion.

Tornado will likely provide a challenge to the top group, and I also believe that Rotor will finish in the top bracket.

The remaining engines are so close in strength that you could probably throw a blanket over them - GarboChess, Hermann, Arasan, DanaSah, Cerebro, Matacz and Anatoli.
Therefore the battle to avoid relegation is likely to go right down to the wire.

Keep an eye at Danasah 8-)

Arasan is close in strength to AnMon now. But all of these engines are capable of winning against it I think.

Let me allow this time guessing last places: Two of the
bottom three will be Anatoli and Cerebro.
