The little changes that I made in static evaluation seem to have made the engine a little... weaker.
Code: Select all
Rank Name Elo +/- Games Score Draw
   1 Monchester 1.0 339 20 1600 87.5% 18.6%
   2 Alouette 0.1.5 4 13 1600 50.6% 44.0%
   3 Alouette 0.1.6 -17 13 1600 47.6% 40.3%
   4 Alouette 0.1.1 -52 12 1600 42.6% 49.9%
   5 NEG 1.3 -224 15 1600 21.6% 32.1%
But, with less illegal moves and less disconnections, maybe this version will have a better rating?

Alouette 0.1.6 is
available .
I fixed a bug which made the engine play illegal move. I also found the reason that made the engine crash sometimes under Windows. It should no longer happen. Thanks to Carlos who reported the issue.
If it is confirmed that the engine is now stable and doesn't play illegal moves, I will try seriously to improve the strength.
Hi Roland,
The windows version is not playing FRC under CuteChess.
Regards,
Carlos

This has to be the weakest engine ever made, I will teach my nephew's Monkey how to move the chess pieces so Alouette can have a real challenger

That list doesn't work like that. It just compares one engine to another. You could raise the entire list by 224 Elo to put NEG at 0.
This list means that Monchester is 335 Elo (339 - 4) stronger than Alouette 1.0, and Alouette 1.0 is 21 Elo (17 + 4) stronger than version 0.1.6.

nvm, apparently
monchester is a very weak engine but i didn't know it.
his remark is rude nonetheless.

Everything under 800 Elo is almost random play, so it's very hard to test strength accurately. You can see that clearly here: monchester is just a bit stronger than Alouette in the CCRL list, but in the test above, the difference was over 300 Elo.

Hi Carlos. Thanks for your message.
I made a quick test under Windows today, with
cutechess-cli . I didn't detect any problem.

Hi, I installed 0.1.6 on CuteChess, but when I select FRC mode, the engine doesn't appear (unlike previous versions)
