So why not give 3 knights to a side or see how 9 pawns fare against 3 rooks? I bet there's a lot you don't know about those kind of starting positions but the lack of knowledge doesn't make them interesting.
9 pawns is not a legal positions and some gui are not going to accept it but I tried another non legal position but something that the gui is not smart enough to understand it is illegal and stockfish could draw inspite of a big handicap of a tempo.

Re: According to chess engine which is the worse 1st move ?

Post by Uri Blass »

finally stockfish single core was funny when it analyzed the following position that may be used for knight handicap matches
at depth 1 the evaluation is 151.47 pawns for black but at depth 2 the evaluation is 151.47 for white

At depth 31 it considers 1.g4 as the best move before it converges to 1.e4 at this depth.

This would be an interesting position to let Stockfish play White versus Komodo Dragon 3.0 Black, I believe it would end up in a draw ?

This is the 2nd game in Progress, who do you believe will win this game at the moment it shows that Stockfish is slightly ahead, but I bet that Komodo Dragon will draw this game at the end. You can copy this PGN and let your computer find out the winner. You can also use Komodo Dragon 3.0 to finish it, since I do NOT have Komodo Dragon 3.0. For this game I am using a different Contempt = 20 instead of the default = 16 For Komodo Dragon 2.6.1

First time that Stockfish is in a winning position against Komodo Dragon 2.6.1 with White Pieces, but I believe that Komodo Dragon can still hold Stockfish to a draw,. Please copy the PGN and continue it using your Komodo Dragon 3.0, since I still have the previous Komodo Dragon version 2.6.1.

Note: I noticed that every single game is different, both engines are selecting different openings with this position. Is that common when using 4 cores for Stockfish and Komodo Dragon to select different opening even without using any opening Book. Please Mr. Kaufman explain, is it that Komodo Dragon remember what it played in the previous games ? According to the Komodo Dragon score it is 0.00 which should end in a draw.
