I have 1. Chess Tactics for students - John Bain, and several books by those other authors, but this is the only one where the author and book match correctly.
Unfortunately, there are some problems. I have the very old copy of the book and there are likely bugs in 29 of the problems. I guess that in the latest edition of the book the problems are fixed.
In addition, I don't have the old reasoning from the book in my database, I only have my own analysis which could be flawed.
Furthermore, some of the problems are missing.
Finally, I used my own numbering system, so my problem numbers will not match. The only way to correlate them is by the EPD position.

The difficulty with the 29 problems is found in my c0 field, so if it is missing in your -ana file after you downloaded, try again.

thank you! 500 exercises - so 29 bugs dont matter for me.
Dan Heisman wrote that 8 books contain the basic patterns you have to burn in your brain to become a strong chess player.
So I want to have the missing 7 chess books in pgn format!

I don't know about these specific books, but there are many other tactic collections available. For example, Bill Wall's site http://www.billwallchess.com/ has a massive compilation of everything about chess. W. T Harvey https://wtharvey.com/ 30000 puzzles from professional chess players. Then there is lichess puzzles database. There are tactics collections like Reinfeld (which is included in some engine test suites), Encyclopedia of Chess Combinations (several hundreds of them are in some engine test suites). There is a pgn collection of combinations by Auerswald containing 3500 tactics (included in LucasChess). Scid vs PC also comes with 2 tactics collections, which can be practiced in scid vs pc, but can also be exported to pgn. Norman Pollock's site http://www.nk-qy.info/40h/ has mate in N collections. But people may not share pgns of full books for copyright reasons.

A long time ago there was a site where a guy would analyze the contents of chess books.
He called it something like "annofritzing" and you could download many of the books.
HIs name was Gunther Ossimitz. Here is a wayback link to it:

I have analyzed all of the w.t.harvey positions.
For endgame positions, the most interesting source of information is the Harold van der Heijden endgame study database (HHdbVI) .
I think I paid $50 or $60 and I am entirely satisficed with the purchase.
There is also the Schwalbe PDB chess problem database: https://pdb.dieschwalbe.de/index.jsp
www.arves.org and gameknot,com are both worthwhile.

My dad gave me a bunch of chess books when I was little. Bobby Fisher teaches chess was the first chess book I bought with my own money. It is really a great way to learn. I also love the Yasser Seirawan chess books because he explains things so clearly. I think I have bought all of his books, but loaned a few out, and I don't remember who I loaned them to.
For someone who is learning, I think Fischer and Seirawan are really good teachers. Definitely beginner oriented.

I guess you are talking about the book in PGN format. If not, I am surprised: I literally found a PDF file at the second result of the „Bobby Fisher teaches chess“ Google search:

I read some pages and found the content easy for me, despite my low level. It is true that I am not learning chess right now... if I had taken a glance to this book when I was learning, I would find it difficult.
