Viren should indeed be. He was already on the original list.

I will vote against Thorsten. He used to be a moderator in the past and was fired due to some kind of misbehaviour AFAIK.

I also very much appreciate to see him agree to run though, and he is a nice man you can always have a coke with. Dear moderators, how are we supposed to get the list of candidates, that we can vote for or against?

Some guidance would be very much appreciated. Can you give us some guidance, now that chrisw has updated the voter list?

There appears to be a large portion of the SF discord left off the list, not just me.

Martin Novik, posts=19, username=martinn
Conor Anstey, posts=149, username=Ciekce
Andrew Grant, posts=1852, username=AndrewGrant

Here are 3 more from the SF discord. Hoping this is going to be rectified soon, it seems very unusual...

Whatever it was it had to do with chris w., ed schroeder and sam hull. But it is long in the past and i did not said i want to run. I said we should be nice to each other because this is our beloved hobby.
And it is difficult enough to see people die and our hobby decrease instead of grow.
So we should make sure the few we have left should be honored and we should be friendly with each other.

What seems like a fairy tale today may be reality tomorrow.
Here we have a fairy tale of the day after tomorrow....

Moderation elections bring out the worst in people. Some think it’s an excuse to start with the slurs and throw mud. It often gets ridiculously personal. I’m in favour of removing the personality component from computer chess politics, indeed of removing computer chess politics altogether, and not having this election thing.

Why do you seem to always forget that this forum was saved as a community effort and under the belief that moderator elections would be held? It's not right to try to take that away...

Me neither. Fortunately, out of curiosity, I once did some testing with the binomial distribution, and hence I know that unless the number of voters is very small, the chances of my vote making a difference are vanishingly small, so I don't mind.

It’s my personal opinion. In the end I go with the majority FG view.
Moderator elections bring out a lot of nasty personal shit, they also bring out gossiping people with nothing better to do who make practically zero contribution at other times. Others who want to wreck talkchess, settle personal scores or who are either attracted to trouble or like to make it. Nothing changes as a result, there will still be those who want to define their in-group by bullying others who are not in their group. The ones who think they are uber smart and talkchess is full of idiots will continue think the same and doing the same behaviours.
This place should be just a boring special interest group doing boring stuff about the special interest.
