Well, you claim to have met me, but I’ve never met you and have no idea who you might be, nor do I care. Being a fan of a music band and bought a concert ticket does not mean the band knows you, even if you waved at the drummer from the crowd.

Re: 2024 Moderation Election ***Update***
We spoke at the WCCC at La Bourse in Paris in 1997. There might not be anyone apart from me who remembers that, but there are plenty of witnesses that we were both there at the same time.
Regarding your analogy: Whitney Houston was on stage, I was 7 rows back. She said, "You name it, I've done it - including 3 in a bed." I laughed. She looked me right in the eye and said, "You can laugh - but I've done it!" However, I have never actually met Whitney Houston, and I don't claim to have. Meeting her would obviously have been a better experience than meeting you (even though you were actually friendly in person - in contrast to your online persona). In the name dropping game, me having spoken to John Major while he was Prime Minister would be a better move. I have also met Ed (I was operating Crafty in the 2000 WCCC in London, and Crafty played against Rebel). I haven't met HGM in person, so I cannot claim the full set of the founders group.
Seeing that you'd taken the trouble to respond to my post when you didn't need to was disconcerting, so it's a HUGE relief to see that you don't care who I am and have no idea who I might be.

Can we continue the issue without these „battles“.
I think we all have the same wish that the forum continues as a vivid computer chess forum.

Oh hi! While you’re here (and we’re getting increasingly off topic of course) can you explain this quote of yours:RubiChess wrote: ↑Tue Nov 19, 2024 9:25 pmIt was you who started comparing yourself with a music band giving concerts.chrisw wrote: ↑Tue Nov 19, 2024 7:54 pmGo away little creep. “They don't like me cause I'm attacking cloners, trolls and people who are "in love with the past". But high simex? I don't think so.”
They (the context) being the talkchess moderators. Me for sure, and almost certainly the other two, have no opinion (like or dislike, respect or lack of) one way or the other about you. Certainly should not have given you the impression of like/dislike, cause pretty sure never said/done anything. So what’s it all about? Not playing to the peer group for inclusion, I hope?!
Anyway, for the record, I suspend judgement, I mean what would be the point?

Sure thing. Agreed. But, as you may know, I really dislike people using my name or connection to it (especially when a connection doesn’t exist) as a means of social upmanship.

Guys. Lets be constructive.
We are different. We have different values. We do come from different countries, cultures, backgrounds.
But ONE value is similar.
We all love computer chess.
We should not let us separate or divert because of personal animosities.
This life is way too short and often not easy.
My grandparents had to live in an after world war situation. Beeing child in WW and lived in a world with very few goods and convenience made them very cool people.
They knew how to survive a destructed world.
Our very heavy arguments look very unimportant to me.
The most important thing is computerchess for me. And i do share it with programmers and all kind of friends and customers and freaks.
The more we split each other into subgroups, the less choices and opportunities wie have.
Don’t let us divide this computer chess community into several subgroups.
Let us respect each other.
We are all not perfect human beeings. As our wifes call our hobby often „chess shit“.
But for us it’s something worthy.
We would not want to live on an island without our „chess shit.“
In this forum anybody who likes computerchess is invited to stay in our community.
We are one big family.
We should respect each other in all the varieties different people show.
