I don't like the most of the IPP family too, Rybka too. I think you know that. Interesting are the IvanHoe versions. More stability, really a quit different playing style after all what I saw. As well the latest versions of Fire seems to be more interesting as the first one.
Very interesting options for Fire and Ivanhoe. Yesterday I try out different from IvanHoe's uci options and here too ... it seems to work with a high stability.
For myself different of the IvanHoe versions seems to be interesting for my rating list.
And yes, it's right what you wrote with your example "TheKing".
You know, I know ... for each argument you can give contra which a good counter-argument. Much persons like that and do that often in computer chess fora

After one year without clear profs from the site of the programmer of Rybka I think we should gave the topic more views.
To hold your position is the same as to hold the position of the IPP family site.
I have a big problem if a programmer comes with a statement ... all is from myself because it's absolutly clear that after all we know such a statement can be not right. I am sure that the programmer of Houdini is a very young programmer and search a bit acceptance. He should do that more which interesting messages to his own work (perhaps SMP, endgame knowledge). This one is more interesting as the statements he gave with the work others do. Read open chess ...
I think if you blocked this topic completly, with all the statements you gave, you don't stand for the good site because we dosen't have a good or a bad site. Maybe an error in reasoning from yourself.
All secrets to chess programming are since years widely known. The statement in the Stockfish interview is logical for myself. Read what Marco wrote in the Stockfish interview. To used know ideas isn't a criminal act.
This topic have in my opinion three different approaches. One of this views have to do with ethik / morale. But if people comes with statements to ethik / morale ... this group of poeple can't used in the same breath Rybka. It dosen't match.
You know that I prize highly your opinion. You are a very honest computer chess player. But in this case you should think about your position because no clear profs from the programmer of Rybka are available for us.
I wish you a nice day!
And all this in my bad English, nobody know what I mean

Not important ...
